Feather Nail Art

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you the feather nail art I created last week. I was really surprised with the response I got for these nails on social - I didn't think they were all that great, but lots of people seemed to like them!

I spotted some gorgeous dream-catcher nail art on Instagram which featured feathers like these, but unfortunately I couldn't seem to track the photo and creator down again (if you know who it is, please let me know as I would love to credit). I used Essie 'Blanc' for the base and then the feathers are Models Own 'Sun Hat', Ciate 'Pepperminty' and Fearne 'Lola Lavender'. Let me know what you think!

Rose Trellis Nail Art

Today I want to show you the nail art I wore last week when I went to watch the X Factor Live Auditions at Wembley. I initially planned to be really cheesy and do an over the top X Factor-inspired design, but I then opted to go for flowers and glitter... And I'm glad I did.

I love how this design ended up looking like little flowers growing up trellises, and effect achieved by narrow white strips (using Essie 'Blanc') over plain nails. My glittery nails are a couple of coats of 'Boudoir Rose' from L'Oreal's Color Riche range, topped with No. 7 'Daisy Darling', which is simply gorgeous. I used a combination of colours for the flowers including Fearne 'Cotton Candy' (lilac), OPI Candlelight (yellow) and No. 7 'Totally Teal' (dark green).

I hope you like them!

Turquoise Flowers Nail Art

Hello! If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram you will have seen this manicure pop up a couple of weeks ago. It's probably one of my favourite manis to date, and it got lots of compliments too. Unfortunately, as always, it only lasted a couple of days - I really need to invest in an at-home gel kit as I'll then be able to do my nail art and apply a sturdier gel top coat. If anyone does this already, please et me know any tips you have!

For this design I used Rimmel 'Let's Get Nude' as a base, and then a combination of polishes for the clusters of flowers, including a favourite of mine Barry M 'Greenberry'. I also used 'Mermaid' from Barry M's Aquarium Collection, which adds a little sparkle to the design.

I hope you like it!

Cocktail Nail Art - Take Two!

Hi everyone. Today I have a really quick post just to show you the recreation of the cocktail nail art I did a couple of years ago. The original post is here, so take a look for a full tutorial and some more information. I can't really decide which version is better, as they are pretty much exactly the same, though I substituted a blue cocktail for a purple one this time around. Let me know what you think :)

Turquoise Leopard Print Nail Art

Hi guys! Today I've given myself the mammoth task of getting up-to-date with all my recent designs. If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook you will have seen lots of new nail art popping up, but I never got around to doing accompanying blog posts... Oooops. So this lunchtime I'm playing catch up, and scheduling all the posts for the next couple of weeks.

First up today are my turquoise leopard print nails. Leopard print is a pretty standard design in the nail art world, but I tried to funk things up a bit with an unusual colour combo and some studs. The base of my leopard print nails is two coats of Essie 'Blanc', and once dry I dabbed on patches of Barry M 'Greenberry' and Nella Milano 'Turquoise'. I then added the black patches with Sinful Colors 'Black on Black', and finished off with a top coat of Essie 'Good To Go'. For the turquoise nails, I used two coats of 'Greenberry' and added little black gems from a wheel like this one.

Let me know what you think!
